Silvia Roccato

BSc Hons Physiotherapy, MCSP, MAITV, MAPCP, HCPC Registered

Silvia graduated from the prestigious University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, in 2011.

Her belief in providing patient-centred, individualised care drove her to strengthen her skills on patient assessment and careful treatment planning. Always up to date and keen to improve her knowledge, she has attended several courses in manual therapy and functional rehabilitation of both children and adults.

Silvia’s interest is set on the treatment of a huge variety of conditions (general pain, sport injuries, age-related conditions and orthopaedic disorders, as well as developmental neurological conditions in newborns and toddlers, using a hands-on approach in conjunction with specific modalities as needed.

Typically her treatments involve a combination of:

-Manual Therapy focusing on myofascial release techniques, stretching of restricted structures and specific strengthening of weak muscles, soft tissue and joint mobilisation/ manipulation, muscle energy and Mulligan techniques.
-Therapeutic Exercises customised for each condition including strengthening, stabilising, and stretching restricted structures to restore normal pain-free range of motion.
-Postural Corrections that address behaviour modification, postural exercise, and self-awareness.
-Home Management Program where she plans a short and detailed home exercise program corresponding to the appropriate stage of condition, including the do’s and don’ts for self-management.

In the last years, Silvia developed a deep interest in Yoga and practises Ashtanga yoga for her personal well-being. She decided to spend a considerable period of time in Auroville, India, studying and practising daily with Monica Marinoni, a renowned certified teacher from KPJAYI in Mysore, India, and direct pupil of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. This experience allowed her to expand her knowledge of human locomotion and to have a deeper understanding of the inner body awareness realising the strong holistic connection between anatomy, movement and emotions.

Silvia couples her hands-on and yoga knowledge in order to give a holistic high quality assistance to her patients.
